There is a book on my nightstand. Untouched for the past two-weeks. I am so excited to crack the binding open again and read more about intuition. One day passes. Then two. And now fourteen.
There is an amazing audio book on my phone. I started listening back in November. I blame my short commute. I will finish because it captures my imagination each time I listen – for ten minutes at a time.
There is a podcast that I have been wanting to listen to since Christmas. And the new Chris Stapleton album.
There is a yoga mat neatly rolled in the corner of my room just waiting to be unfurled.
Then the guilt rolls in. I know it is important for growth and I am so passionate about continuing my development. Yet even when I try time slips away in 24-hour increments. How is it that I keep growing then? I notice the changes, the new understandings. Without a block of time each day available to read, study, digest…how?
As a coach, it is important to stay in the work. As a human, it is important to stay in the work.
When there isn’t time to read, I breathe and recall an amazing conversation with an old friend where I heard something familiar yet with a new understanding. And I live it.
When there isn’t time to reflect, I breathe. And l live it.
When there isn’t time to learn about expanding my intuition, I breathe and listen to that which already resides within me. And I live it.
When there isn’t time to intellectualize a new tool or skill, I breathe and I practice it in real-time. And I live it.
I live it in my personal life. I live it in my professional life. The distinctions intertwine and the divisions melt away and I live it. Everyday. Intentional growth requires deliberate practice. My entire being lives it.
How do you practice?

I have great aspirations of how I want to learn and grow and practice based on beliefs and what’s worked in the past. I am now able to let go of the guilt, the comparison and the thoughts of “I am not enough” when I do not meet those aspirations. Life is happening for me everyday and so everyday I live the Thrive mission of disrupting the world with love + personal responsibility. Beginning each day with myself and letting the ripples flow out from there.
