My habits are my comfort zone. I did challenging things all the time, but I chose them with tact and expertise. I tackled them in the way I knew how and wanted. Just about two months ago now, a habitual upheaval took place and everything changed. My comfort zone (my habits) were completely turned on their head. Now I had no choice but to form new habits in every aspect of my life…
New relationship habits.
New parenting habits.
New fitness habits.
New eating habits.
New social habits.
New career habits.
I know how my Inner Truth wants me to be in all things and that gives me direction and strength to forge on ahead. Still, it doesn’t change the fact that changing all this stuff is hard, dirty, sometimes ugly, work. And you do it. Because if not you, then who?
No one is going to set up your new habits for you. No one is going to forge your new normal. You have to do it. Period. And you better like the new person you’re becoming because these new habits will form with or without your strategic involvement.
When the snow globe gets turned back to “normal” again, I’m going to be one BAMF that knows how to handle a little habitual upheaval.
Am I going to get coaching, research my next move, take mentors advice? Hell yes I am. And yet all the preparedness in the world has no meaning without execution. I need to get in there and scratch and claw and succeed, only to fail and fall and get back up and try again.
Because it’s worth it.
