Self-Care is bunk.
Bubble baths. Scented candles. Mani-pedis. BUNK.
Now, I love a good massage or coffee date with a friend and it certainly feels good in the moment yet I find the next day…I’m back where I started.
Feeling stuck in life, suffering with feelings of inadequacy, overwhelm and being unfulfilled no matter what I do.
Can you relate?
I’m not saying you’re not worthy to treat yourself to an hour (maybe two) of relaxation with a massage – and it certainly can help down-regulate your central nervous system…
What I AM saying is that you’re worthy of a more sustainable, long-lasting, “feel it everyday” relief from stress, self-doubt and negative self-view.
What do you think about this?
self-awareness is the way to sustainable self-care
Self-awareness is conscious observation. Everything you experience runs through the filter of your past experiences and your mindset which acts as a lens of how you look at and perceive things.
Awareness interrupts the subconscious programming that is already in place and acts as a catalyst for changing or upgrading that programming.
Self-awareness helps you decide which programs you’d like to update to grow and experience life better.
Every experience in life has the potential to shake up, refine, strengthen, reinforce, and/or upgrade your programming.
You can experience self-awareness by tuning in and becoming an observer of your body, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, desires, behaviors, & your deep knowing or IT-Inner Truth. The very fact that you can observe these things means you are bigger than them and therefore have the power to reprogram them and to reprogram your mindset.1
“Once your mindset changes,
everything on the outside will change along with it.” ~ Steve Maraboli
Your mindset can be an expression of a belief you hold and you can change your mindset by opening to and embracing a new belief.
When you wake to the day with an agile-growth mindset, self-awareness and the belief that you are enough in each moment you won’t turn to traditional self-care to fill you up – to fix you – to feel a tiny bit better in life.
You’ll experience that massage or bubble bath or coffee with a friend from a place of abundance versus burnout with the awareness that you’re already miraculous AND more is available to you if you so desire.
