In times of chaos or questioning or disruption…I find myself asking for clarity. If I can just get clarity then it will all be ok.
What I have come to realize is that I am NOT really asking for or practicing gaining clarity most of the time.
What I am really doing is using an abundance-based word for trying to come out of fear-based thinking, feeling and belief.
In times of chaos or questioning or disruption I crave certainty. Because if I have certainty then I “know” everything will be better. I will feel better because the fear of the unknown will be dissolved because I will have certainty and it will all be known.
In reality, the only thing I can be certain about is that nothing is certain.
I can’t be certain that something is likely or unlikely to happen. And that leaves me feeling powerless. That I don’t have a say in how anything will turn out…until I remember what certainty is and what I believe certainty might give me and I remember what clarity is and what I KNOW having clarity will give me.
So what do I know?
I know that when I pay attention to my H-IOS and align my desire component with my other components that I feel empowered and the external world has less of a say in how I experience life. I don’t know what circumstances may come my way but I do know that the more I know myself and trust in my knowing and clarity in how I want to show up the less I will be rocked.
To get really solid in my desire for clarity I ask myself:
– What do I want to experience?
– How do I want to feel?
– What do I want to do?
– What do I want to think?
– What do I want to believe?
Clarity is getting clear on how I want to experience whatever happens.
That’s where my power is.
The other cool thing about playing with clarity instead of certainty is that:
Focusing on what you do know and where you are clear is an avenue to gaining more innovative clarity in other areas.1
