How Do You Find Your Way Through the Tunnel?
For me and my family the past year has felt like driving through a long, dark tunnel and seeing a glimmer of light peeking through at the end then hitting a traffic jam.
Not every minute of every day feels that way. There are moments in “slow moving traffic” where people dancing in the car next to us brings a smile to our faces or a favorite song comes on the radio. So we have had some new, fun experiences together during the drive.
This is when the traffic feels like it is moving along at a steady pace, getting closer to the light.
Then… WHAM! Traffic jam.
Worry. Fear. Overwhelm. Struggle.
The tunnel grows longer…and darker…yet the sliver of light at the end remains. Beckoning us. Calling us forth patiently. It knows we will reach it.
Did you know you can pull yourself out of that dark tunnel or even just turn on the dome light for a minute to remind yourself of the possibilities within the tunnel and those awaiting you closer to the light? It’s hard to AND you can do it.
I invite you to just gradually do things that you enjoy while in the traffic jam.
Sometimes for me that means getting behind the wheel, turning on some tunes and dancing and singing my way through the long, dark tunnel heading in the general direction of the sliver of light.
What’s your way through the tunnel? Comment below!
1 – tailgate the car in front of me the entire time
2 – grip my steering wheel worrying about the tailgater behind me
3 – Patiently go with the flow of traffic
4 – Turn up the volume and dance my way through
