There’s a lot of talk about resilience these days.

Especially discussions about resilience as a verb. And that resilience is a dynamic process and not a personality trait you either have or you don’t.


As a long-time patient with a life-threatening, chronic illness – and a caregiver for someone facing similar challenges – I recognize that the energy it takes to bounce back after hitting the lows each and every time isn’t sustainable.


People ask me what’s the secret to my resiliency. How do I keep going?


I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, I just did it. I realized that cracking the code and spreading the knowledge could guide others so I got curious about it.


I noticed I tend to not fall down… and if I do I’m able to come back stronger. I’m able to connect to calm first and respond from there so I don’t add to an already stressful situation. I’m able to make lemonade from lemons.
